Structural entropy and spatial decay of quasimodes in Vogel spirals

We investigate the spatial decay and temporal localization properties of quasimodes (i.e., scattering resonances) two-dimensional Vogel spirals, composed deterministic, aperiodic arrays electric dipoles. By determining structural entropy maps spirals using Green's matrix method, we show that three distinctive types coexist in spirals: exponential, power law, Gaussian. While exponential power-law decays typically occur disordered media multifractal systems, respectively, Gaussian is demonstrated to characterize, on average, most localized both spatially (smallest participation ratios) temporally (longest lifetimes). These forms are by a no-fitting analysis maps, independently corroborated calculating field real space, which also provides direct evidence algebraic critical quasimodes. Altogether our findings unveil rich spectrum long-lived can be relevance novel optical functionalities for applications light sources sensing devices.
